Are women parts of herds?!

These are the same women, who are despised by some and treated as mere parts of herds, who brought men up and took care of them. Men would not exist today had it not been for women. The whole world would have disappeared. Generations have been multiplying, no thanks to men because the greatest role and sufferings in the process have been done by women. They are the ones who get pregnant, give birth, breastfeed and take care of children while men only play a complementary role in bringing up the kids and paying the expenses, which has also become a joint responsibility lately.

What is painful is that you women are your own selves' enemies because others treat you like this as you have no choice about your own life and become but part of a herd; when you are deprived from any kind of authority, even on your own body, you are but part of the herd and when you are forced to marry someone you do not want to, you are definitely nothing but part of a herd. All this is alien to Islam. It is only the result of futile traditions and habits. Women used to take part in all fields, fight and practice medicine in Islam.

Yet, nowadays, she is being banned from driving. She is being deprived of her right to self-determination and free will. She has no rights except those set for her by a man, whoever that man is! Who believes that while approaching the year 2014, some female children are being married to men of the same age of their fathers.

The 'death brides' phenomena in Yemen is the cause of 8 deaths per day because of early marriage, pregnancy, labor and hemorrhaging to death. This phenomena is spread in all Arab countries, not only in Yemen, but other Arab countries dare not declare any related statistics.

Women suffer from various kinds of physical and sexual violence in Afghanistan and many other countries worldwide.

Seven women get assaulted per hour in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, either by a spouse or an ex. Human trafficking, namely with women, is still at its highest rates where women are forced to serve or practice prostitution everywhere around the globe.

Women are still considered secondary creatures despite development, the number of human right organizations and the amount of openness. It is all because of the family that implants seeds of evil in their sons enhancing their manliness and superiority to women.

This mainly happens because of a mother who had been oppressed by a man herself, or has old psychological complexes she wishes to have her daughter go through and suffer as well. Our world needs a real stand and a candle lit for each woman who fought for her rights. So many men deserve appreciation for supporting women at a time when many women gave up their own rights. It is high time women are treated as independent individuals who have the right to plan their own future.

A woman should be the only person responsible for her own body, not her family or tribe. It is time for women to love, appreciate and treat themselves with much pride. It is time for them to feel proud and not ashamed of being women anymore. — Al-Jarida
