GOUT sejenis penyakit yang ditakrifkan sebagai penghasilan asid urik secara berlebihan di dalam badan dan ini berlaku dalam keadaan di mana pengeluarannya bertambah dengan pengambilan secara berlebihan makanan purin (zat semula jadi) berprotein tinggi.
Apabila ini terjadi, pesakit gout akan mengalami bengkak pada bahagian kaki, panas, dan amat sakit hingga ada sesetengahnya tidak boleh berjalan.
