[batavia-news] Solusi Islam Selesaikan Masalah Prostitusi

Solusi Islam Selesaikan Masalah Prostitusi

Pertama, merosotnya pemahaman agama sehingga keimanan masyarakat menjadi rapuh.

[batavia-news] Debate: Libya’s institutions cannot facilitate the political transition

Debate: Libya's institutions cannot facilitate the political transition

You would be wrong if you were to say that Libya's existing state institutions were capable of halting its slide into chaos and division.

Libyans have inherited a daunting legacy from Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, the most prominent aspect of which is the absence of any institutional structure within the Libyan state. This has cast a shadow over the post-Gaddafi regime, for the country lacks strong institutions that could potentially help it forge ahead or use as building blocks for developing other institutions. The future will be marked by fragmentation and division if the situation continues to deteriorate.

Authorities such as the General National Congress (GNC) and transitional government are ineffective thanks to several factors. First, the birth of these institutions was flawed from the beginning. They inherited unresolved issues that were postponed by the National Transitional Council as a means to avoid bearing responsibility in the presence of the Libyan people. This is the reality today, alongside the political isolation law that was approved at gunpoint and that completely muddled the Libyan political arena. This is one of the main reasons behind the political crisis the country currently faces.

The second of these factors is the Constitutional Declaration issued in August 2011, which charged the GNC, an elected representative institution, with completing two main tasks: first, to form an interim government to manage the transitional phase, and, second, to form a constituent assembly to draft a permanent constitution for the country. The GNC succeeded in the first task, albeit with difficulty, and we do not yet know the fate of the second thanks to political conflicts.

The third factor is the election law on which the selection of members of the GNC was based. It stipulates that one-third of the seats in the GNC will be allocated to political entities and two-thirds to independents. The law has caused much confusion and controversy, and eventually resulted in the formation of an incoherent parliament, a fact clearly demonstrated by the GNC's work and the ways in which political conflicts prevented any progress from being made.

The fourth factor is that major problems exist in Libya, and official institutions are unable to confront them. This gave way to tribal intervention, which bypasses the government and forges independent political settlements. It is as though the official powers fear becoming close with tribes to maintain friendly relations, or are afraid that accusations will fly that they favor one party over another. Then there is the issue of port closures, which began last July thanks to the former guard commander of the oil installations, Ibrahim Al-Jadran. The closures incapacitated the government as well as the GNC. A compromise with the protestors located in these ports has yet to be reached because of disputes over the distribution of oil revenue and mutual accusations of corruption. An acute lack of security institutions has become a reality thanks to many factors such as inflation, the vast numbers of armed "revolutionaries" still active, and the authorities' failure to appreciate their role in the overthrow of Gaddafi from the revolutionaries' point of view. Additional factors include a lack of any clear vision or plan by the GNC or the interim government for dealing with security issues, or incorporating former revolutionaries into state institutions. A number of tribal conflicts in the country's west and south have emerged due in part to the unprecedented proliferation of weapons among citizens, as well as the high rate of assassinations and kidnappings throughout the country. Assassinations abound in the east, while kidnappings are on the rise in the west. Both thrive in the south.

It appears that the dominance of specific armed groups—secured through their role in overthrowing Gaddafi—eventually granted them more power and legitimacy than the state itself. They further solidified their preeminence after the regime's ouster through the stockpiling of arms and salary increases. This has enabled armed groups to challenge the state in all disputes.

For these reasons and others, the state structures that now exist are unable to deal effectively with any of the sensitive issues that emerged during the war on the Gaddafi regime and its aftermath, most notably issues regarding displaced persons and immigrants, as well as Gaddafi-era detainees and compensation demanded by rebels. These issues, in addition to emerging tribal conflicts that threaten the nation's unity, have exhausted institutions that have not yet even laid their foundations.

Australia tidak berperikemanusiaan - Marty

JAKARTA 8 Feb.

- DPA

Emirati employer accused of raping housemaid

Court orders Emirati's arrest for raping housemaid

DUBAI An Emirati has been accused of raping his housemaid when she entered his room to iron his kandoura.

"I begged him to let me go, but he locked the door and ordered me to lie on the bed. I told him I was married, and that he too was married, but he would not listen. Instead, he twisted my arm and forced himself upon me. When I screamed, he covered my mouth and threatened to kill me if I did not shut up," the 30-year-old Indonesian told the court on Wednesday. The man's wife was in the hospital at the time of the incident.

She said the man routinely harassed her when they were alone. According to court records, on the night of the incident the man told the housemaid to give him a massage. When she refused, he allegedly approached her in the kitchen and asked her to iron his kandoura in his room. Records show that the Emirati gave the housemaid Dh200 after raping her. "When I refused the money he said he would break my hand if I did not take it," she said.

Following her co-workers' advice she tried to run away, but the employer caught her and brought her back. "I called the company office and the consulate and told them I couldn't run away so they told me to call the police. So I did." Forensic reports show that the man's DNA was found on the woman. The court has ordered the arrest of the Emirati who failed to show up. The next hearing is on February 16.

Helicopter makes emergency landing in Central Java

Fri, February 7 2014 22:28 | 648 Views

Boyolali, C Java (ANTARA News) - A helicopter had to make an emergency landing due to bad weather conditions at the Dukuh Jetis Square, Kadipaten Village, Andong, Boyolali District, Central Java, on Friday, though no casualties were reported.

The helicopter carrying four passengers made the emergency landing at 1:00 p.m. amid heavy rains.

"I think the pilot made the emergency landing because of low visibility," stated an eyewitness Wartono (53).

The local residents gathered in the square once they saw the helicopter, he reported.

"The three passengers got off the chopper and sought shelter at a local residents house. They said they were flying from Jakarta and were en route to Yogyakarta," Wartono added.

At 2:00 p.m. the helicopter resumed its flight to Yogyakarta.

Recently, a helicopter, model PK-JTT, belonging to PT Pasific Utama, made an emergency landing in the West Java provincial city of Bekasi, due to fuel leakage, claimed the police.

"The helicopter flew from the Siloam Karawaci hospital in Tangerang, Banten province and was heading to Cirebon," chief of Jakarta Metropolitan police public relations division Senior Commissioner Rikwanto noted, adding that no injuries were reported following the emergency landing.

According to Rikwanto, the helicopter was piloted by Captain Tri Widodo and had two doctors on board.

The pilot decided to make an emergency landing at the Padurenan Mustika Jaya Village, Bekasi, due to fuel leakage, Rikwanto remarked, noting that all persons on board were safe and the chopper sustained no damage.

Last month, a Bell 412 EP military helicopter of the Indonesian military (TNI) lost contact and made an emergency landing in the Long Sulit Hamlet of the Malinau District, East Kalimantan.

The announcement was made by Army Chief of Staff General Budiman.

"Due to the bad weather, the pilot decided to return to Tarakan. In the middle of the route, the pilot had to make an emergency landing in the Long Sulit Hamlet due to the bad weather," Budiman stated.

The helicopter, piloted by Captain Marpaung, had taken off from Tarakan and was bound for Long Bawan at 1:30 p.m. local time.

The helicopter was carrying seven soldiers of the Yonif 100/Raider, aimed to replace the personnel stationed on the Indonesian and Malaysian border.

The helicopter had a three-member crew comprising Captain Marpaung, Co-Pilot Second Lieutenant Muhammad Kholiq, and Sergeant Kasnianto. The seven soldiers included Eliandy Saragih, Rudianto, Said Kelihu, Heri Purnomo, Tri Gunardi, Jecky Hartoyo, and Feri Kurniawan.

[batavia-news] Racism among Muslims

Racism among Muslims

Published — Saturday 8 February 2014

This is with reference to the article "Achievement has no color" by Sabria S. Jawhar. It really saddens me that we Muslims can ever think on racist lines. We are the followers of Islam and Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
The last sermon of our Holy Prophet (pbuh) should be more than enough for us to serve as a guide for our social behaviors. I believe the reason for the decay of Muslim societies all across the world is the fact that we have abandoned the teachings of Islam.
We are proud of our sister Nawal Al-Hawsawi for her achievements. She must not lose heart due to some ignorant people. There is no discrimination in Islam. Nobody is superior or inferior on the basis of his/her color, gender or nationality.
Unfortunately, racism is on the rise in the entire Muslim world not just in Saudi Arabia. I think in order to tackle this issue; we need to introduce necessary changes in the curricula so as to educate our children on this issue from an early age. I also urge religious scholars to play their due roles in the eradication of racist tendencies.

Sushi Bar Terima Sertifikat Halal MUI

"Misalnya saja mirin (arak putih).
