The controversy surrounding Democratic Party spokesman Ruhut Sitompul and a racist comment he made back in December against political analyst Boni Hargens has yet to subside, with no apology issued by Ruhut, no sanctions imposed on him by his party, and instead a new term coined in his honor.

Boni Hargens, who founded the National Anti-Discrimination Movement in response to Ruhut's racism, said on Sunday he had proposed a new word to the Linguistics Council, to be based on the controversial politician's ad hominem attacks.

"We have coined a new term, which is 'Ruhutism.' We have passed this to the Linguistics Council, we faxed the materials today," Boni said.

"Ruhut's political attitude is considered. He often speaks on behalf of his party, which means his party is aware of it and that there is a system. That is why we need to immortalize Ruhut's politics with the term 'Ruhutism.'"

Ruhut, Boni said, is "tendentious, and makes personal attacks in a public discussions and even attacks the other person irrationally by insulting the person's race and ethnicity."

"'Ruhutian' denotes a person who tends to attack the other person in a conversation with trash-talking, inaccurate data and has the tendency to be racist."

Karyono Wibowo, a senior researcher with the Indonesia Public Institute (IPI), a think tank, on Sunday described Ruhut as "psychopathic."

"He is so used to being racist. I'm afraid he might be finding satisfaction in discrediting an individual using racist epithets. It can be categorized as psychopathic," Karyono said.

"Ruhutism is the antithesis of nationalism and Pancasila."

Karyono also raised concerns over the Democratic Party's decision to make Ruhut a spokesperson, despite his many controversial statements over the years.

"Ruhut creates negative perceptions toward the Democratic Party as well as [party chairman] Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. It is such a shame that Ruhut was appointed as a spokesperson," he said.

Boni reported Ruhut to the Jakarta Police for racism over a comment Ruhut made in a national TV program on Dec. 5, 2013.

"Let me ask, what color is the Lapindo mud? It's black, right? So that's it, Boni Hargens's skin is black," Ruhut said of Boni, who is from Manggarai, Flores.

Calls for a public apology by Boni went largely ignored by Ruhut, who as of Sunday still denied any racism toward Boni.

"I am against racism. I was once one of the leaders of Pemuda Pancasila, so don't drag this into the issue of racism," Ruhut said on Sunday, referring to the thuggish youth group.

"He [Boni] is a black political analyst, or in other words [one] who often discredits the government … in the same way there is a term for 'black businessmen' or those who refuse to pay taxes."

Ruhut insisted that Boni should first retract his statements regarding President Yudhoyono's failed governance in his nine years as president.

"He insulted the president, who does he think he is? He hasn't even finished his PhD," Ruhut said.

Political communications expert Tjipta Lesmana said at a discussion on Sunday that the Democratic Party should sanction Ruhut for his statements.

"It is very strange that despite having occurred repeatedly, the way I see it the Democratic Party has not reacted or even reprimanded Ruhut," Tjipta said.
